About US

The Rebel Math School
“…a different school of thought.”

The Mission:

The mission of The Rebel Math School is to inspire life lessons that can help students establish self-confidence, a freedom from failure and patterns of success, using the medium of mathematics.

The Vision:
The Rebel Math School wants to break the mold of traditional teaching, standing on the school pillars, to inspire thought, discovery and learning.

Math is one of the simplest subjects to learn but unfortunately, it has become one of the most complicated, disliked and feared courses of study. Our vision is to establish curriculum and lessons that help break down the mental barriers that prohibit learning and present a new approach to doing math, to ultimately, inspire a self-confidence that establishes success patterns in mathematics and life.

The Foundation Pillars—Thought. Discovery. Learning.
Thought—We believe in building and establishing a safe environment that nurtures and encourages critical and analytical thinking that builds self-confidence that leads to…Discovery—We believe a student should have the freedom to fail as they practice to uncover working solutions, that in time and repetition, establishes greater self-confidence that leads to…Learning—We believe learning comes by way of enlightenment and enlightenment comes by way of self-discovery. It is a lifelong process and habit that builds success, in mathematics, and in life.

The School Goals:

#1) We want to offer online courses that help coach students of every age through the fundamentals
math concepts we believe are the building blocks for all levels of mathematics, using
analogy, story, practical application, coaching practice habits, examples, humor and
any means necessary to simplify math by:
  • creating fundamental learning lectures and online courses
  • Package mental learning lectures
    • Package those lectures as part of a course curriculum
  • Offer multiple courses

#2) Coach Families on how to build an “environment of learning” in their homes, so together, the family can create habits for success
  • Create coaching courses for adults to learn how to help tutor their own students at home
  • Offer LIVE (streaming/webinar/podcasts) sessions to hear the struggles of the home as it relates to mathematics, learning, study, testing, etc.

#3) Teach Standardized Testing habits that can help students master the (Texas) mandated course exams.
  • Create lectures and courses that cover the Texas STAAR exam for students
  • Create informational lectures and courses that cover the Texas STAAR exam for parents

#4) Provide cost-effective courses for every home
  • My price of one-hour weekly tutoring has averaged $30/$35 per session; I want to offer courses (bundles of lectures) for that same one-time cost
  • Offer gift packages that allows customers to purchase courses for students external to their home
    • Student sponsoring campaigns/adopt a student, etc.
  • Offer course bundles—discounted rates for bundling courses together
  • Offer a one-time purchase of the entire curriculum (upon completion)
    • This rate needs to be more cost effective than one-year at Sylvan Learning, as an example

#5) Overall Objective: Reach 1% of the overall population of students in US public schools in 10 years (based on January 2018 data).
  • There are 51 million students in public schools between Pre-K and Grade 12 in the US
    • this does not include Home School students or adult students enrolled in GED courses
    • Of the 51 million, 6 million students are in the state of Texas alone (10% of overall student population in the US)
      • Of the 6 million, 86,000 students are enrolled in FWISD (.15% of overall student population in the US)
  • Our goal is to reach 1% of the overall public, home-school and adult GED students in the US in 10 years
    • That is one student, for every 100 students
    • IF 100% of the 51 million are faced with a failing school system, why can’t we touch 1% of that total?
